Projects, upgrades and service for CNC and PLC systems

From a full CNC retrofit to a midnight breakdown, we work on the control systems that run New Zealand plant.

CNC retrofits and upgrades

Give a good machine a new control

The mechanics of a well built machine tool outlast its control by decades. When the CNC, drives or motors become obsolete, a retrofit replaces them and keeps the machine you know, for far less than a new one.

We survey the machine, specify the new control, drives and motors, rewire and commission it, and plan the work around your production.

CNC retrofits and upgrades: scope and questions

  • Survey and fixed-scope proposal
  • New CNC control, servo drives, spindle drive and motors
  • Electrical cabinet rework and new wiring
  • PLC, HMI and machine logic rewritten or migrated
  • Commissioning, parameter backup and operator handover

PLC projects and upgrades

Replace obsolete PLCs before they fail

An obsolete PLC or HMI is a breakdown waiting for a part nobody stocks. We migrate the program and the hardware to a current platform, test it, and switch over in a planned window.

We also take on new control projects: new machines, line changes, and added safety or interlocks.

PLC projects and upgrades: scope and questions

  • Migration from obsolete PLCs and HMIs
  • New control systems and programs
  • Drives, motion and safety integration
  • Documentation and full program backups
  • Commissioning and support afterwards

Service and repairs

When a machine stops, we come and fix it

Fast, dependable fault finding and repair on CNC and PLC systems, to get production running again with as little downtime as possible.

And maintenance planned to stop it happening again. Why proactive maintenance pays.

Service and repairs: scope and questions

  • Breakdown call-outs and fault finding
  • Drive, control and electrical repairs
  • Program and parameter backups, and restores
  • Planned and preventive maintenance
  • The parts the repair needs

SCADA and visualisation

One view of the whole plant

Operator screens, alarms, trends and production data from every machine and process, in one place. For a single line or a whole site.

SCADA and visualisation: scope and questions

  • SCADA and HMI screens
  • Alarms and alarm history
  • Trends and production data
  • Connection to PLCs across the site
  • Reports for managers

Machine monitoring

Every machine, live, without anyone writing anything down

Kealink, the monitoring platform we built with Salix, shows each machine's state, output, OEE and stops, and emails your team when something needs attention.

One machine in Kealink: status, the last eight hours, and live values

Robotic machine tending

Machines that keep cutting after everyone goes home

A robot loads raw parts and unloads finished ones, so your CNC machines run through breaks, shift changes and the night.

How a project runs

  1. 1

    Site visit

We look at the machine or the line, what it does now, and what you need it to do.

  2. 2

    Fixed-scope quote

What we will do, what it costs, how long the machine is down, in writing.

  3. 3

    Build and install

Prepared ahead, installed in a planned window to keep downtime short.

  4. 4

    Commission and support

Tested, documented, backed up, and handed over to your team, with support after.
