PLC upgrades, migrations and control projects

An obsolete PLC is a breakdown waiting for a part nobody stocks. We migrate the program and the hardware to a current platform, test it, and switch over in a planned window.

Before it fails, not after

Planned migration costs far less than an emergency one, and you choose when the line stops.

Your program, carried over

The logic is migrated and tested, not guessed. Anything undocumented is documented as we go.

Room to improve

A migration is the right time to add interlocks, diagnostics, better HMI screens and connections for monitoring.

What is included

The scope

Every job starts with a look at the machine and a fixed-scope quote in writing: what we will do, what it costs and how long the machine is down.

  • Migration from obsolete PLCs and HMIs
  • New control systems and programs for new machines and line changes
  • Drives, motion and safety integration
  • HMI and operator screens
  • Documentation and full program backups
  • Commissioning and support afterwards

How a project runs

Planned around your production

  1. 1

    Site visit

We look at the machine or the line, what it does now, and what you need it to do.

  2. 2

    Fixed-scope quote

What we will do, what it costs, how long the machine is down, in writing.

  3. 3

    Build and install

Prepared ahead, installed in a planned window to keep downtime short.

  4. 4

    Commission and support

Tested, documented, backed up, and handed over to your team, with support after.

Questions

Common questions

Which PLCs do you work with?

The major brands found in New Zealand plants, including Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi Electric, Omron and Schneider Electric.

We have no documentation or backup. Can you still help?

Yes. The first step is to take a full backup of what is running now, and to document it. That alone protects you if the PLC fails.

Can the change-over happen during a shutdown?

Yes. That is the normal way: everything is prepared and tested ahead, and the switch happens in your planned window.
