CNC retrofits and control upgrades
Keep a well built machine and replace what is wearing out: the CNC control, the drives, the motors and the wiring. For far less than a new machine, and planned around your production.
The machine is sound, the control is not
The castings, slides and spindle of a good machine tool outlast its electronics by decades. When the control becomes obsolete, a retrofit is usually the better value.
Spares you can still buy
A new control, current drives and motors mean parts and support are available again, instead of hunting for second hand boards.
Known machine, new life
Your operators keep the machine they know, now with a modern control, current backups and documentation.
What is included
The scope
Every job starts with a look at the machine and a fixed-scope quote in writing: what we will do, what it costs and how long the machine is down.
- Survey of the machine and a fixed-scope proposal
- New CNC control and operator panel
- Servo drives, spindle drive and motors
- Electrical cabinet rework and new wiring
- PLC and machine logic rewritten or migrated
- Commissioning, parameter backup and operator handover
How a project runs
Planned around your production
- 1
Site visit
We look at the machine or the line, what it does now, and what you need it to do.
- 2
Fixed-scope quote
What we will do, what it costs, how long the machine is down, in writing.
- 3
Build and install
Prepared ahead, installed in a planned window to keep downtime short.
- 4
Commission and support
Tested, documented, backed up, and handed over to your team, with support after.
Questions
Common questions
Is a retrofit worth it compared with a new machine?
When the mechanics are in good condition, usually yes: a retrofit costs a fraction of a new machine and avoids new foundations, tooling and retraining. We tell you honestly after the survey if the machine is not worth it.
How long is the machine down?
As short as we can make it. The cabinet and parts are prepared before we start, so the machine is only stopped for the change-over and commissioning. You get the planned downtime in writing with the quote.
Which controls do you work with?
The major CNC and drive brands, including Siemens and Fanuc. Tell us the machine and the control it has now, and we will recommend the right replacement.
Brands we work with
Siemens, Fanuc, Allen-Bradley and more
We are an independent company, not an authorised distributor or representative of these manufacturers. All brand names and logos belong to their owners.
